In Gaston County, Danny Hembree was sentenced to death for the murder of Heather Catterton. Although the victim’s family supported the death penalty, her father recognized, “This was a no-win situation. They’ve lost a son. We’ve lost a daughter.”
The Robeson County trial of Larry Robinson continues without media coverage.
The State is presenting evidence in the Stanly County trial of William Robinson. Robinson is accused of shooting a man during a 2006 robbery.

Well, so the taxpayers of NC are now on the hook for quite possibly a million or more $$ over 15-20 years just to stick a needle in this man’s arm & kill him in retribution for what he was convicted of.
They’d spend half or less if they just locked him up for life. If all that the piece says about him is true, this is a dangerous man, & society needs protection from him. Spend a whole lot less by locking him up & throwing away the key.
its not easy when their are children involved who will never get the chance to see their fathers again,so why would u lock someone up who took 2 lives an injured another for life an give them the opportunity to see their children every week, its not fair at all an not appropiate for the situation,u would never know unless u were the one explaining to these children everyday why they will never see their parents again, thats so sad,i pray that justice will be served!!
“Justice” CAN & is “served” when someone is sentenced to life with or without parole. A death sentence is NOT the sole provenance of “justice.”
What you are talking about is vengeance. It is not man’s “job” to dispense “justice” as a form of vengeance–”getting even”–in other words. To punish an offender who’s violated society’s mores, yes. To keep society @ large safe from offenders w/the propensity to harm, yes. To rehabilitate a criminal prior to release, yes.
But, to “get even”–to serve up “justice” in the name of vengeance?
NO.
God has said that “vengeance” is his alone. Let the Author of all life decide when/where a life–yes, even that of a murderer like Hembree–ends, and HOW.
Our Blessed Redeemer, Christ Jesus, never advocated violence & death as retribution for a crime against society, even though HE Himself was subjected to it.
Follow Him, & NOT the vengeful, madness of MEN who only want to “get even,” to “even the score” with criminals in their midst. Death penalty advocates are NOT followers of Christ.
Danny Hembree deserves to die for his crimes. Although I do believe in rehabilitation, this man has or shows no remorse for his actions or the family. It’s a sad case that it takes so many years to execute someone like a Danny hembree. Henry Lou Wallace is another one that should have been executed long ago. I am a proponent of the death penalty and truly believe in ultimate justice if it is carried out swiftly. However, our state allows heinous criminals to sit in prison and mock the system, curse the families of their victims, and all at the expense of tax payer dollars. If they are not remorseful and cannot be rehabilitated to a life in prison, then off to the gallows they should go. Thanks, Brian Scott.
