Former death row inmate Jimmy McNeill has been re-sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. McNeill was originally sentenced to death for the 2000 murder of his wife, but the sentence was overturned earlier this year due to juror misconduct. Scotland County prosecutors decided not to seek the death penalty again at the request of the victim’s family.

Wonderful news!
Great news for McNeill. Interesting that prosecutors actually took the victim’s family’s wishes into account in this case.
